Evan Armstrong is a video artist and filmmaker currently based in Chicago, IL. At the core of his work is an examination of the American psyche by way of our popular mythology, achieved by warping and remixing those myths until they are rendered unrecognizable. Incorporating writing, photography and new media elements, he conjures mysterious worlds that blend past and future, banal and alien, homemade and cinematic, childish and sophisticated, self-aware and sincere, narrative and non-narrative. He is completing a B.F.A. at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, set to graduate in 2022.
